Biography: Ivo Maskalans is an attorney at law, associate and a member of the LAWIN industry and regulatory practice group in Latvia, specialising in competition law, data protection issues and intellectual property law. He advises clients on competition aspects in business transactions and data protection releted matters. Mr Maskalans has an LLM degree from the Faculty of Law at the School of Business Administration Turiba (2006) and a lawyer’s degree from the legal department of the Police Academy of Latvia (2005). He also has a diploma in EU competition law from King’s College London (2008). Prior to joining Kļaviņš & Slaidiņš LAWIN, he worked as deputy director of the legal department at the Competition Council of the Republic of Latvia (2004-07).
