Title: SOCIAL MEDIA AND INTERNET GOVERNANCE- LEGAL ISSUES AND CHALLENGES (merged) completed

Concise Description:
This workshop shall focus on upon the emergence and evolution of social media and social networking and the various legal issues that have arisen on the intersection between social media and Internet governance. As social media is empowering more and more people, Internet governance is likely to have a direct impact in terms of its further growth. The recent CNN Twitter debate has shown how the social media is shifting the power in the hands of the people. What are the various complicated legal issues and challenges that are likely to arise in the overlap segment of social media and Internet governance - the proposed workshop shall have a look at some of these complicated legal issues and challenges. It is proposed to invite some of the founders and top policymakers of social media websites to share their perspectives on how social media and the Internet governance related legal issues are likely to play an important role in the times to come.
