Concise Description:
Internationalized domain names or IDNs are beginning to engage the attention of the netizen community. There has been a lot of work going around the successful implementation and launch of IDNs. However for the purposes of effectively ensuring an efficient IDN legal regime in place, it is critical that the various legal challenges that are surrounding IDNs need to be appropriately well-settled. The proposed workshop shall look at some of these various complicated legal issues surrounding IDNs and how they have been tackled by various stakeholders including ICANN in the last one year. The proposed workshop shall also aim to look at how further steps can be taken to address and deal with complicated legal issues and challenges surrounding IDNs. It is proposed to invite various speakers from the relevant stakeholders , who are working in the area of IDNs.
