Title:
Spanish and Latin content in the Internet
completed
Concise Description:
The Spanish language and other languages spoken in Spain and in the Latin American region like Portuguese and Catalán are growing in number of users and in the relevance and quality of their content.
They also mean a relevant tool for enhancing the local culture and local communities.
The workshop purpose is to explore the latest experiencies in the use of Spanish and other Latin languages in the Internet, focusing on concrete results in relation with community inclusion, content development and education involvement.
Considering that these languages are spoken by a large amount of the world´s population and that in many countries they are part of the normal curricula studies at shcools and universities,the workshop will explore the future of these languages and its relation with the Internet as an expansion and outreach tool.
In relation with the question asked:
a) Provide the names and affiliations of the panellists you are planning to invite. Describe the main actors in the field and whether you have you approached them about their willingness to participate in the proposed workshop.
This is already done and they are willing to participate.
b) Describe how you will take steps to adhere to the multi-stakeholder principle, including geographical diversity.
Participants are from the academia, private sector, civil society and government, they come from Europe and South America.
c) Does the proposed workshop provide different perspectives on the issues under discussion?
It provides different visions from the different stakeholders invited, focused on one issue which is the usage of the Spanish Language in the Internet.
