Mr. Valdez holds a degree in Computer Science and has 16 years of experience in the Internet technical community, working for organisations like National Information Centre (NIC) Mexico, Latin America and Caribbean Network Information Centre (LACNIC), Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC). He is currently an Executive Secretary in the Number Resource Organisation (NRO). His current role allows him to contribute in the coordination of RIR global projects and objectives.
He is a founder member of LACNIC Board and the first Latin-American member appointed in the Address Supporting Organisation in ICANN. He has participated in the global discussions of the IGF since WSIS stage and in five IGF meetings. At regional level, he has supported and actively contributed to the creation in 2010 of the Asia Pacific Regional IGF (APrIGF) and the Pacific IGF in 2011.
