Description:

The evolution of social media to establish a communication medium to fulfil the desire of humans to connect and socialize around the globe is itself a wonder. The power social media has given individuals in sharing their thoughts and problems with the world has been the greatest gift to human society. With the growing influence of social media on the population, manipulators can misguide a large section of society in promoting their agendas. Social Media Manipulation is an emerging concern in today's world. The use of social media to manipulate a large part of the population is giving grave repercussions. The tactics which cyber-terrorists use to spread their propaganda and misguide a group of people is one example. This session provides a platform to discuss the information workflow on social media platforms and how to enhance the current policies regarding the issue.

Expected Outcomes

Through the session, the community will understand how social media manipulation is the major reason behind the terrorism and riots occurring around the globe. Discussion of the technologies used by various antisocial entities in conducting the research and targetting the vulnerable groups on social media.
Putting light on how we can come together and produce a solution for the world regarding this issue and how to overcome the effects of cyber terrorism in the world. Seeing the opportunities for collaborating with the various institutes around the globe in creating the policies for the issue. Focusing on making a detailed research paper on the topic with the outputs produced through this session.
