Online Child Protection, Freedom of Expression and Privacy - companions or competitors?
Provide a concise formulation for the proposed workshop theme including its importance and relevance to the IGF.

The workshop will explore how different stakeholders view and manage the tensions and poten tial difficulties around, on the one hand, the need to protect children from undesirable or illegal content and contacts in the online space while maintaining, on the other, ready access to the richness of the internet's panoply of resources and channels of communication.

This workshop will address some of the key ideas which led to the formation of the Dynamic Coalition on Child Safety Online and will contribute to its workflow and deliberations. Finding appropriate ways of addressing these issues is a major concern globally in the field of internet policy and management going forward.

Provide the names and affiliations of the panellists you are planning to invite. Describe the main actors in the field and whether you have you approached them about their willingness to participate in proposed workshop.

NACSO will be the principal organizer. CHIS is now part of NACSO which, last year in Rio, along with other partners organized two workshops that were very well attended. Several of the constituent bodies of NACSO and CHIS have worked with some or all of the other bodies mentioned. NACSO is a transnational organization in which both men and women are more or less equally represented.
Does the proposed workshop provide different perspectives on the issues under discussion?
Yes. Doubtless some will be very different.
Please explain how the workshop will address issues relating to Internet governance and describe how the workshop conforms with the Tunis Agenda in terms of substance and the mandate of the IGF.
The workshop touches on security, ethical and other emerging issues which were identified by and form part of the Plan of Action and the Tunis Declarattion.
List similar events you and/or any other IGF workshops you have organized in the past.

CHIS and many of the comnstituent bodies of NACSO are very experienced in organizing events of different kinds, including workshops and seminars.

Yes to both questions. See above.
