The dates for the 17th IGF have been confirmed as 28 November-2 December 2022. All stakeholders are invited to start planning their participation.

The 17th IGF

The 17th annual IGF meeting will be hosted by the Government of Ethiopia in Addis Ababa from 28 November to 2 December 2022, under the overarching theme: Resilient Internet for a Shared Sustainable and Common Future. The interactive programme is being developed around five specific themes. IGF 2022 intersessional work is also underway.

Preparing IGF 2022

Preparations for IGF 2022 are ongoing. The First Open Consultations and MAG Meeting was held online from 23 to 25 February. It discussed the calls for feedback & improvements, as well as the call for thematic inputs. The Second IGF 2022 Open Consultations and MAG Meeting will be hosted at the United Nations Office at Geneva from 6 to 8 July 2022

The Internet Governance Forum (IGF) serves to bring people together from various stakeholder groups as equals, in discussions on public policy issues relating to the Internet. While there is no negotiated outcome, the IGF informs and inspires those with policy-making power in both the public and private sectors. At their annual meeting delegates discuss, exchange information and share good practices with each other. The IGF facilitates a common understanding of how to maximize Internet opportunities and address risks and challenges that arise.
