Online content Regulation:
An emerging trend in most African countries is the formulation of policies and regulations that sharply target online platforms with aim of curtailing the freedom of expression and infringe on the right to privacy. An introduction of arbitrary laws and policies that may affect not only democracy within states but also affect the running of business within these countries. Authorities are over stepping their regulatory mandate with aim of playing the role of communication regulator in the respective countries. The trend is spreading fast like a bush fire. What role can be played by all stakeholders to curb this. What are the best practices to be borrowed? Like north-south information exchange/networking.
