1.What are the necessary technical, financial and moral considerations should be addressed in making of digital development policy to promote the digital inclusion progress of older persons ?
2.What kinds of moral principles should be embedded in development of aging digital technologies ?
3.The criterion of best practices of ICT digital skill education for older persons in post covid-19 era.

Connection with previous Messages: Our session is based on Accelerating Information Accessibility for the Aging Population in IGF 2021. Aiming at the problem of the elderly’s difficulty in using Internet and smart devices, clarifying the daily needs of Internet use, it is becoming the consensus of the whole community to raise the awareness to promote the adaptable aging services under the scope of information accessibility.The speakers will be invited to share their insights on the issue related to promoting aging services and construction of an inclusive digital information society, from best practice to policy discussion, including but no limit to topics as: how to balance the market and social equality, how to call for the attention of policy-maker, how to improve the service from the beginning of product.

Description:

The subject of round table circle applied for hereby BUPT is the digital technologies which enabling universal access as well as social inclusion of older persons. Information and communications technologies have the potential to provide new solutions to development challenges particularly in the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, there is a pressing need to address the major impediments that older persons face in accessing new ICT technologies, which calls for policy and investment for the lifelong education of digital skills and competencies as well as the everyone-centric standardization of ICT enabling devices and application services for aging population.

Expected Outcomes

The consensus opinion shared by multi-stakeholders in form of initiative document on debated topics followed:
1.Necessary considerations for aging populations well being in policy of digital development.
2.Consensus recognition of moral principles in development of aging digital technologies.
3.The criterion of best practices of ICT digital skill education for older persons in post covid-19 era and the examples tested from 2020-2022.

Hybrid Format: The session will be opened by a moderator who will introduce the theme and policy issues of the conference to speakers and attendees. Each speaker has 6 minutes to address any policy issue and workshop participants have 3 minutes to present their views on the speech.
Usage of IGF Official Tool. Additional Tools proposed: The online moderator will encourage remote participation through various social networking platforms in addition to the platform provided by the IGF Secretariat. After the first round of interventions, the discussion section of the roundtable will open with an invitation to online participants to weigh in on strategies discussed and pose questions to the speakers. The organizing team will work to promote the activity on social media, and will specially invite relevant stakeholders to join the session and share questions ahead of the debate. Online participants will be given priority to speak, and their participation will be encouraged by the online and onsite moderators.
