    Description

    This session aims to raise awareness on the advantages and potential of Open RAN: 5G supplier diversification; Security (transparency/risk management); Cost/ energy consumption effectivity; Collaboration with OTICs and Testing Laboratories. The Government of Japan will kick off the session by introducing "Open RAN Security Report" in the opening remarks followed by the two panel discussions: Panel on Advantage, Challenge and Potential of Open RAN invites major network operators (already introduced Open RAN and/or interested in Open RAN) and suppliers (Hardware and Software) and have them exchange experience and views on security, cost (deployment and operation) and energy consumption etc.; Panel on cooperation with OTICs and Testing Laboratories welcome representatives from OTICs, Testing Laboratories and government officials and expects their candid exchange of experience and views on possible cooperation and coordination to ensure interoperability of ORAN equipment. The session will conclude with closing remarks.
