Peresson, Sophie

Sophie Peresson joined the International Chamber of Commerce in 2017. She is Director of the ‎Innovation for All Hub, a role that involves leading ICC policy development and advocacy on Internet ‎governance, digital policy, intellectual property and anti-counterfeiting. ‎

Sophie oversees the work of the ICC Digital Economy Commission that convenes over 300 business ‎experts from across the global ICC network to discuss digital policy issues. She also directs ICC’s ‎Business Action to Support the Information Society (BASIS) advocacy initiative, which brings together ‎business to advance multistakeholder participation in Internet governance and ICT for development. ‎ICC BASIS convenes and facilitates business input into work streams and activities, in particular those ‎following up from the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), whether at the UN, its ‎agencies or the Internet Governance Forum.‎

Sophie has an established track-record of managing multi-country projects and programmes, and of ‎leading research and policy analysis. Prior to joining ICC, she was the director of Transparency ‎International’s global Health and Pharmaceuticals programme where she worked mainly on the ‎counterfeiting, corruption  and ethical business practice issues. ‎

Sophie graduated from the Sorbonne Law school and went on to graduate from the Johns Hopkins ‎School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). In 2017 she completed an MSc at the London School ‎of Hygiene and tropical Medicine. She is a University Lecturer at Science Po (Paris) and a member of ‎the ISO/TC 215 Health Informatics (International Organisation for Standardisation) group. She is ‎bilingual English-French and has a good command of Spanish.‎
