7. Description of workshop When the Internet was introduced as a commercial and social tool, English quickly became the most predominant language. As the Internet has grown, and access has improved, English has dwindled from 80% of all content to roughly 30%. Chinese and Spanish language sites have increased dramatically, with Chinese content alone growing by 1277.4% in the span of a decade (2000-2010). |

Dustin Phillips and Jacqueline Treiber currently aim to present fully operational, standalone wikis on the subject of Internet governance in Chinese, Spanish and Swahili by the end of 2016. It is important to us to understand the needs of the community and potentially connect with others who may want to collaborate and strengthen this project that will ultimately help the entire community. |
