IGF 2026 Judiciary Engagement

In recent years, the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) has increasingly sought to strengthen the participation of the judicial branch in discussions on some of the most pressing issues related to the use, evolution, and governance of the Internet and digital technologies. To support this objective, the IGF introduced dedicated judiciary engagement as a space for members of the judiciary to engage in focused dialogue, exchange experiences, and contribute judicial perspectives in the lead-up to and during the annual IGF meeting.

Judicial Council of the City of Buenos Aires | March 2026 | Argentina

The IGF Secretariat is collaborating with the AI Committee of the Judicial Council of the City of Buenos Aires on a set of trainings taking place in 2026. The activities aim at training the judiciary on guidelines recently approved in December 2025 on the use of AI and Generative AI in judicial work.

A kick-off workshop was organized on 26 March at the Judicial Council:

Opening Remarks:

  • Ms. Genoveva Ferrero, Secretary of General Administration and Budget of the Judiciary of the City of Buenos Aires (CABA).

Speakers:

  • Mr. Pablo Casas, Judge
  • Ms. Maria Pilar Llorens, Associate Researcher at the Center for Technology and Society Studies (CETyS) of the Universidad de San Andrés, Buenos Aires
  • Ms. Celine Bal, Associate Programme Officer, IGF Secretariat

  • Mr. Gonzalo Vazquez, Prosecretario Letrado, Committee of AI Standardization, Judicial Council of the City of Buenos Aires
