Lan XUE is a Cheung Kong Distinguished Chair Professor and Dean of Schwarzman College at Tsinghua University, where he also serves as the Director of the Institute for AI International Governance and Co-Director of the Global Institute for Sustainable Development Goals. His teaching and research interests include global governance, crisis management, and science, technology and innovation policy. He also serves as the Director of China's National Expert Committee on Next Generation AI governance, a member of UN Committee of the Experts on Public Administration, a member of Internet Governance Forum (IGF) Leadership Panel, and a board member of Sustainable Development Solution Network (SDSN). He is an adjunct professor at Carnegie Mellon University and a non-resident senior fellow of the Brookings Institution. He is a recipient of the National Medal of Innovation Excellence, the Distinguished Contribution Award from the Chinese Association of Science and Technology Policy, and the Fudan Distinguished Contribution Award for Management Science. He holds a PhD in Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University.
