IGF 2016: Policy Options for Connecting and Enabling the Next Billion(s) - Phase II

The final output resource from the second phase of this intersessional, multistakeholder and community-driven activity of the IGF can be downloaded here. The resource is aimed at investigating challenges and opportunities for addressing and overcoming barriers to meaningful Internet access, promoting meaningful access in diverse contexts and regions, and ensuring that meaningful access also supports the achievement of the UN sustainable development goals.

IGF 2017: Policy Options for Connecting and Enabling the Next Billion(s) – Phase III

Connecting and Enabling the Next Billions - Phase III is a part of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) intercessional work for 2017 that aims to supplement policy recommendations made in the first two phases conducted in 2015 and 2016 with concrete case studies that highlight ways in which community-level projects are progressing on key sustainable goals. IGF 2018: Policy Options for Connecting and Enabling the Next Billion(s) – Phase IV

The objective for the CENB IV is to collect concrete stories showcasing how connecting the next billion(s) helps achieve broader Sustainable Development Goals such as:

  • SDG 7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all
  • SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
  • SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (particular linkage with Internet access)
  • SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals
