- The First Open Consultations and Meeting of the Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) of the IGF 2018 cycle was held from 20-22 March 2018 at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Geneva, Switzerland.
- The summary reports of all MAG meetings, including the MAG's regularly scheduled virtual meetings, are available.
- The following MAG Working Groups have been approved:
- Working Group on Fundraising (WG-FUN)
- Working Group on IGF Improvements (WG-IMP)
- Working Group on Multiyear Strategic Work Programme (WG-MWP)
- Working Group on Outreach and Engagement (WG-OE)
- Working Group on Workshop Review and Evaluation Process (WG-WREP)
- The following Best Practice Forums (BPFs) have been approved:
- BPF on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and Big Data
- BPF on Cybersecurity
- BPF on Gender & Access
- BPF on Local Content
- A fourth phase of the initiative on Policy Options for Connecting and Enabling the Next Billion(s) (CENB IV) was approved.
- An open Call for Issues to inform the IGF 2018 programme was made until 13 April 2018.
- The Call for Workshop Proposals closed on 6 June 2018.
- Calls for Open Forums, IGF Village Booths and Dynamic Coalition (DC) sessions were open until 29 June, 23:59 UTC.
- Community Public Consultations for Improving Youth Engagement at the IGF 2018 were open until 6 July. Comment on the first Outcome Document of proposed ways for improvements.
- The Second Open Consultations and MAG Meeting took place from 11-13 July 2018 at the UN Office at Geneva (UNOG), Switzerland.
