Following a review of over 60 community proposals for intersessional work streams, the MAG has selected four Policy Networks that will serve as year-round multistakeholder platforms for dialogue, collaboration, and the development of outputs throughout 2026.

The First IGF 2026 Open Consultations and Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) Meeting will take place on 24-26 June 2026 in Nairobi & Online. ALL are invited to register and consult developing information on the meeting page.

The IGF 2026 Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG), appointed by the Secretary-General, has been announced, including the new Chair, Ms. Jennifer Chung.

An Expert Group Meeting (EGM) on the IGF and its permanent mandate was held in New York on 14-15 April 2026. The report from the multistakeholder gathering of 30 experts is now available to read. 

The IGF is pleased to officially announce that the 21st annual IGF meeting will take place in Nairobi, Kenya, from 14 to 18 December. More information will be shared soon - access the IGF 2026 page to stay tuned.

We are thrilled to announce that Joseph Gordon-Levitt, actor, filmmaker and founder of HitRecord, has been appointed the first United Nations Global Advocate for Human-centric Digital Governance. In his new role -- affiliated with the IGF and designated by UN DESA -- Mr. Gordon-Levitt will help advance a people-centred approach to digital governance and connect global policy discussions with everyday experience.
