    Description
The increasing prevalence of Tech-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV) poses a direct challenge to building a resilient, interoperable, and trustworthy digital ecosystem. As cyberthreats, misinformation, and data misuse undermine public confidence in online spaces, TFGBV stands as a systemic issue requiring an integrated, multi-stakeholder response. This session will present groundbreaking findings from a two-part study conducted by The Dialogue under the Alliance for Cyber Trust and Safety, India’s first CSO-led Trust and Safety Alliance. The study advances a Whole-of-Society intervention model that has gained endorsements from 14 Indian CSOs and 7 Parliamentarians, offering a replicable framework for capacity building, policy reform, and stakeholder coordination. Key Takeaways: 1. Data-Driven Insights to Inform Policy & Platform Accountability • Findings from a pan-India survey of 4,000 respondents quantifying the lived experiences of TFGBV survivors, including barriers to justice and digital safety. • Empirical evidence on gaps in victim trust, access to redressal, and mental health impacts, emphasizing the need for legislative updates, platform accountability, and survivor-centric interventions. 2. Whole-of-Society Model for Strengthening Digital Trust & Resilience • The study maps stakeholder roles across six critical intervention stages: Access, Prevention, Early Intervention, Response & Redressal, Recovery & Healing, and Research. • Establishes a structured multi-stakeholder framework, defining clear roles for actors including policymakers, law enforcement, digital platforms, civil society, mental health professionals, and the judiciary. • Identifies regulatory and industry best practices for creating interoperable, survivor-friendly digital safety mechanisms. With TFGBV cases rising globally, there is an urgent need for policy and technological solutions that ensure digital trust and resilience. By presenting data-driven, multi-stakeholder solutions, this session will equip policymakers, tech platforms, and civil society with actionable insights to combat TFGBV and enhance online safety for all.
