    Description
This lightning talk will present the experiences of the project 'Jóvenes Informad@s en la Era Digital', which was implemented in Panama in 2023-2024. It is an initiative that aims to strengthen media literacy and critical thinking among young people in order to combat disinformation in Latin America. Through conferences and workshops in universities and schools, we have trained 1,253 people and worked with 14 educational institutions to provide tools for critical and responsible analysis of information in the digital age. Given the global impact of misinformation and its implications for democracy, digital rights and civic participation, sharing this experience at the IGF is key to strengthening regional and global collaboration and inspiring public policies and strategies that promote informed and resilient digital citizenship. This presentation aims to open a space for dialogue with other initiatives working at the intersection of digital education, online human rights protection and the fight against disinformation.

To facilitate interaction between speakers and attendees, both in-person and online, various strategies will be implemented. This includes a live chat where participants can ask questions and provide comments in real-time. Additionally, moderators will be assigned for both the in-person and virtual audience to collect and present questions fairly in zoom.
