A panel discussion
"Cross-sectoral cooperation for digital inclusion" (06.12.2021, 09:30 - 10:10 CET).
Our discussion is to bring closer actions taken to combat the digital divide by the institutions and sectors represented by the speakers. The cross sectoral cooperation and coordination of projectstowards one common goal also refers to the implementation of the UN's Sustainable Development Goal 17 "Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development".
The starting point of the discussion is the increased awareness of the persistent problem of digital exclusion in Poland, which, together with the pandemic, has increasingly become a major problem in many regions of our country. Exclusion suddenly manifested itself in many layers - infrastructural, lack of digital skills and financial, and it is also intertwined with social exclusion. This is shown, amongst others, in the recent report of the Orange Foundation (https://fundacja.orange.pl/strefa-wiedzy/post/wykluczenie-spoleczno-cyf…) and in the Polish Economic Institute report published recently (https: // pie.net.pl/nierownomierna-jakosc-dostepu-do-internetu-w-polsce-w-dobie-pandemii-covid-19/). Moreover, the persistent digital exclusion, with the ever-increasing digitization of life, will deepen the divisions in our society. How can we (Govermnet, business and NGO) work together to have impact in decreasing the digital divide?
