Description

The session will introduce the concept of confidence-building measures in the context of international ICT security and the Cyber Policy Portal, UNIDIR’s confidence-building tool.

UNIDIR Cyber Policy Portal provides an overview of cyber-policy and -legislation landscape of all 193 UN Member States as well as a select group of intergovernmental organizations and instruments & frameworks. The Cyber Policy Portal data are drawn from voluntarily submitted material by UN Member States as well as official open-source material.

This confidence building tool seeks to support informed participation by relevant stakeholders in all policy processes. It promotes trust, transparency, and cooperation in cyberspace. Recently, the Portal was recognised as a confidence building tool by the consensus reports of UN processes dedicated to international ICT security - the Open-Ended Working Group (OEWG) and the Group of Governmental Experts (GGE).
