Description:

This workshop aims to explore the transformative potential of AI and internet technologies in the agricultural sectors of developing countries, with a focus on ending hunger and promoting sustainable development. By bringing together policymakers, technology experts, agricultural practitioners, and stakeholders, this session will examine the role of government and international policies and delve into strategies and best practices for leveraging these technologies to enhance agricultural productivity, improve access to markets and information, and ensure food security in the face of global challenges. Participants will engage in interactive discussions, sharing experiences, and identifying policy recommendations to drive inclusive and technology-enabled agricultural transformation.

Expected Outcomes

1. Participants will collaborate to generate policy recommendations for leveraging AI and internet technologies in agriculture in developing countries, emphasizing essential steps for progress.

2.The workshop will exhibit successful implementations of AI and internet technologies in agriculture through case studies and best practices. These achievements can be compiled into a widely disseminated publication, offering valuable insights and inspiration to other regions and countries.

3. The workshop will encourage participants to submit research papers or articles focusing on specific aspects of AI and internet technologies in agriculture. These contributions will be compiled into workshop proceedings or submitted to relevant journals, enhancing the existing knowledge in the field.

4. The workshop aims to foster collaboration and funding opportunities by bringing together stakeholders from governments, international organizations, and the private sector. Such collaborations can lead to joint projects, funding proposals, and partnerships, driving the implementation of workshop recommendations and catalyzing agricultural transformation.

Hybrid Format: The workshop will begin with plenary sessions where both online and onsite speakers present their insights and perspectives. This will be facilitated through a combination of live video streaming, where virtual speakers join the session via video conferencing platforms such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams, and physical presentations by onsite speakers. Virtual attendees will be able to pose questions or comments through a dedicated online platform, which will be moderated by a facilitator who relays them to the panel. This can be an online collaboration tool such as Google Docs or Miro or through the chat section of the video conferencing platform.
