What will participants gain from attending this session? This workshop is designed to observe the intersection between artificial intelligence, data governance and autonomous mobility whilst exploring the impact it has in shaping the future of our cities.
Here are some of the things Participants will learn
1. An introduction to the concept of self-driving cars as the ChatGPT of transportation
2. The role of the internet in autonomous mobility which relies of automotive network connections, computer vision, data and machine learning algorithms
3. The concept of data governance in connected/smart cities
4. Safety. Control and Accountability of Autonomous vehicles systems from the cybersecurity perspectives
Description:
As global population continues to rise, this will place a pressure on urban cities in the search for resources such as food, education, jobs, fulfilment and above all the increased need for transportation, an area which has seen massive innovation and advancements.
At the forefront of such advancements is autonomous mobility, which promises to challenge the way we move, work and live within our cities. The most known example of autonomous mobility is self-driving cars, which introduces safety, efficiency and a sustainable means of movement. However they also pose significant questions about their ethical and social implications as we prepare to co-exist with these systems.
The immediate outcome of this workshop is to raise awareness and provide a reality check on the state of autonomous mobility, its possibilities, shortfalls and the risks it involves while we set the tone for regional cooperation so Autonomous Mobility doesn't take cities by surprise
In the medium term, we want to produce a publication on safety, security and the governance of Autonomous Mobility Systems that can kickstart conversations at the regional level.
Hybrid Format: The session aims to facilitate a panel discussion where participants are able to ask questions and leave comments both online and onsite. For this purpose, the session will feature both online and onsite moderators who will have regular communication to keep the participants equally engaged. While the onsite moderator will hear the participants’ questions, physically attending the session, the online moderator will be keeping an eye on the questions and comments that are shared online and bring these into the discussion by communicating it to the onsite moderator. We also plan to kickstart the session by launching a word cloud with Menti/loomio to survey the audiences' knowledge about autonomous mobility. Both online and onsite participants will be able to anonymously submit their responses.
