IGF 2022 MAG Renewal

Call for Nominations for the ‎2022 Internet Governance Forum (IGF)
‎Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) and the MAG Chair ‎

The Internet Governance Forum (IGF) Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) established by the ‎United Nations Secretary-General in 2006, is ‎instrumental in planning the programme of the annual ‎IGF.‎

On behalf of the United Nations Secretary-General, we are inviting nominations from all ‎stakeholder and regional groups for the 2022 IGF MAG and the MAG Chair according to the ‎established ‎principles and practices of MAG rotation and selection of its members. The MAG terms ‎of reference, including individual member responsibilities, group procedure, and the composition ‎of the MAG are available ‎at the IGF website1 ‎.‎

Governments, the ‎private sector, civil society, and technical communities should submit names of ‎candidates ‎from developed and developing countries as well as from countries with economies in ‎transition. Successful ‎nominees will become part of the MAG for a period of one year and are ‎expected to bring the perspectives of their respective groups to the multistakeholder consultation ‎process.‎

Please submit nominations using the online submission template ‎available at the IGF website to the IGF Secretariat by 10 September ‎‎2021. ‎

Representatives of stakeholder groups are invited to submit nominations for the MAG Chair directly ‎to the IGF Secretariat at nominations [at] intgovforum [dot] org. ‎

We would like to express our gratitude to all past and present members of the MAG and the MAG ‎Chair, who have ‎contributed their time, effort, and valuable guidance to ensure the smooth and ‎effective running of the IGF.‎

Thank you and I look forward to the continued success of the Internet Governance Forum.

(Signed)‎
Mr. LIU Zhenmin
Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs
